1264. LARGE COLORFUL MAGICIAN BROADSIDE. This brightly colored poster for Carter, The Great "Where the dead materialize? the absorbing question of all time." This fantastic color lithograph poster professionally backed with linen depicts the famed magician Carter with figures of ghouls, devils and skeletons, ravens, etc. over the front of the sign. Brightly colored with large white, yellow and red letters across the top "Carter the Great". Made by the Otis Lithograph Co., Cleveland, Ohio. SIZE: Approx. 6 1/2' x 9'. 1264A. REMINGTON UMC TIN ADVERTISING SIGN. This tin sign appears to be new old stock and is framed in an oak frame depicting a relief design of a box of Nitro-club shotgun shells with a flying mallard. This red, green, white, yellow and black advertising sign states "Arms and Ammunitions, Complete Stocks, etc. Sault Saint Marie, MI". SIZE: Overall is 31" x 13". CONDITION: Generally very good to excellent. As indicated earlier, I believe this is new old stock and there is kind of a haze on much of the sign which appears to be some kind of residue on the sign itself as a result of it having been in the paper wrapper for so long. I am not sure if it will completely clean off, otherwise a really nice looking sign. 1-27550 (400-600)
1264B. SUPER KENDALL'S SPAVIN CURE AD WITH BEAUTIFUL WOMAN. This wonderful roll down paper litho banner with metal strips depicts a lovely Victorian maid in red jacket feeding her horse with numerous other figures in the foreground. A terrific old litho for Veterinarian medicines. SIZE: 29" x 35", the paper itself is 28 1/2" l x 21 1/2" w. CONDITION: Terrific bright lithography and the paper in excellent condition. 1264D. ROCKFORD RAILROAD WATCH CARDBOARD SIGN. Fabulous graphics of elaborately dressed Victorian couple on the waiting platform at the train station confirming their train departure with the help of the railroad conductor and his trusty Rockford pocket watch. SIZE: Image: 13" w x 17-1/2" t. CONDITION: Fair to good; margins trimmed; surface shows moderate scuffing, some closed margin tears and punctures; overall darkening of paper; some soiling and light water stains. 1-26878 (200-300)
1264E. FABULOUS WELLS FARGO MIRROR CREATION. This sand blasted and reverse painted Wells Fargo mirror was custom made. This was an outstanding and high quality piece mounted in a 19th Century molded walnut frame. This fabulous advertising piece replete with colorful lettering and patriotic American flags promotes the West's most famous 19th Century delivery CO., Wells Fargo. Impressive display piece and unquestionably costly to produce. SIZE: 58" x approx. 58". CONDITION: Not guaranteed antique. 1264F. EARLY CASKET MAKER LITHOGRAPH. Circa 1870s, hand-colored stone litho for "Metallic Burial Cases and Caskets" with illustration of casket sales showroom. Original casket manufacturer's name probably obscured under more recent cardboard cut-out captioned "D.S. RICKABY, CABINETMAKER AND UNDERTAKER". Donaldson Brothers litho, New York. 1264G. PORCELAIN DIE CUT DOUBLE SIDED SIGN. This wall mounted sign advertising the American Agricultural Chemical Co. for fertilizers in red, gray and white coloring. SIZE: 25" x 18". CONDITION: Some chipping and fading of the sign, otherwise generally good. 1-27542 (200-300)
1264H. THREE OLD FIREWORKS RELATED BROADSIDES. First, a colorful red, white and blue litho banner for National Fireworks. The other two being large black and white late 19th early 20th Century broadsides. One "Hyde & Co. Fireworks a the Lowell Fairgrounds, August 9th. "Largest Display of Fireworks". The other, "Niagara Falls and 3000 Star Batteries. Jumbo, dancing skeleton, Japanese disc, Chinese fighter, etc., largest hot air balloon. Admission Children 15 cents, etc. SIZE: National poster is approx. 54" l x 18" w. Two old black and white broadsides are approx. 40" x 29". CONDITION: All three are generally good. 1264I. OLD PAPER FOLDING LITHO BROADSIDE FOR TIGER HAY RAKES. This late 19th early 20th Century folding broadside has a beautiful large old litho view of a farmer with horse drawn hay rake "The Tiger". A panoramic farm scene in the background. The reverse of which discusses the various types of Tiger brand rakes. SIZE: Overall is 22" x 19 1/2". Lithography itself is 13" x 12". CONDITION: Fold line evident but otherwise generally speaking the lithography is in generally good condition. 1-27549 (150-250)
1264J. "1876 CENTENNIAL" ENGRAVING. This Centennial engraving telling the remembrance of the 100th Anniversary of the Independence of the United States has the focal point of the figure Liberty seated. Surrounding her are oval escutcheons with the busts of all the various Presidents to date up to Ulysses S. Grant. Panoramic views in the background. On the top background depicting the exhibition grounds itself with various buildings. The lower portion depicting a Revolutionary War scene. Published by George Stinson & Co., Portland, ME. 1264K. COLORFUL OIL CLOTH BANNER FOR MAYO'S COCK OF THE WALK PLUG TOBACCO. This bright old oil cloth or linen banner with bright yellow background advertising Mayo's Plug Light and Dark depicts the large blue Cock of the Walk and various plugs of tobacco below. 1264L. COLUMBIAN ROPE POSTER. Colorful illustration of rain slicker clad fisherman and parrot weathering the storm, no doubt with the help of their Columbian manila rope. Printed on linen-base paper. 1264M. 1914 SPRINGFIELD BREWERIES CALENDAR. Heavy textured paper illustration by "C. Ward Traver" of classic Victorian temptress for this Springfield, Massachusetts brewer. SIZE: 20-1/2" w x 30-1/2" t. CONDITION: Generally good to very good; retains top and bottom brass strips. Paper surface shows a few horizontal roll creases with some light pigment loss but displays very nicely. 9-79317 (300-600)
1264N. BEAUTIFUL NEW OLD STOCK CARDBOARD PHOTO FOR BICKNER'S GAUL CURE. This brightly colored litho die cut has terrific imagery and wonderful color. The center panel depicts a farmer with a die cut horse head. On either panel to the sides show a farmer on one side and an Express wagon and driver on the other. Complete with the original tissue paper. SIZE: 33" h x 22"w (when closed) x 50" w (when open). CONDITION: Generally very good to excellent. 1-27541 (350-550)
1264O. LARGE LINEN OR OIL CLOTH TYPE BANNER FOR OLD HONESTY PLUG TOBACCO. This large brightly colored banner depicts the bust of a St. Bernard dog. Titled "Finzers Old Honesty "Chew Old Honesty Plug Tobacco Always Reliable". Bright yellow background with blue and white letters in a nicely litho colored dog face. SIZE: Approx. 50" l x 17 1/2" h. 1269. RARE PLANTER'S PEANUT FIGURAL SCALE. This fantastic Mr. Peanut's scale has always been a very desirable collectable. So much so that between 30 and 40 years ago, an entrepreneur made a limited number of copies. This is one of those rare copies that were produced sometime around the 1960's early 70's. In doing so, he made exact duplicates of the Mr. Peanut figure and mounted them on old Hamilton scale mechanisms. The tremendous cost to do this resulted in only a few of these being produced. This is an exact copy and it is extremely difficult to determine the difference between the reproduction and the original $20,000 earlier versions. SIZE: 44" tall. CONDITION: Scale is working without insertion of coin. Scale base in beautiful restored condition. Mr. Peanut in near excellent collection as he is contemporary. 1-27184 (5,000-10,000)

1272. COCA-COLA CARDBOARD SIGN IN FRAME. Cardboard poster featuring bonneted mother and daughter in summertime floral setting. Sign copyright 1950 and was designed to be displayed during the summer months of that year. Retains original gilt wood frame complete with embossed tin Coca-Cola emblem. SIZE: 62-1/2" l x 33-1/4" t overall. CONDITION: Cardboard sign fair to good, some vertical water staining to daughter and surface scuffs at lawn chair. Large Canadian poster captioned "Hospitality" with illustration of fortunate gent sitting on a Victorian sofa with two very hospitable, attractive young women. Sign copyright 1948. 1276. CATS PAW ELECTRIFIED SIGN. Wall mount, eight-sided reverse glass sign featuring graphics of the black cat logo above an oversized red shoe. Reverse bears "Telesigns-Chicago" SIZE: 19" x 19" x 3-1/4" deep. CONDITION: Missing the electrified lamp and cord assembly; some erosion to lower metal bezel; some lifting of paint at perimeter of glass base. 1-27127 (450-550)

1278. WHEARY TRUNKS ILLUMINATED STORE DISPLAY. Unusual 3-D display consisting of a paper advertising sign sandwiched between two layers of reverse painted glass. The sign fits into a gilt wood frame, which is back lit by a light bulb in a tin enclosure. Sign manufactured by Animated Products. SIZE: 13 1/2" w x 16 1/2" t x 5 1/2" d. 1278A. 1918 COCA-COLA CALENDAR. Rare calendar with illustration of two women enjoying a social outing at the beach with the help of their Coca-Cola refreshments. SIZE: Image size: 12-1/2" w x 31-1/4" h. (in frame) CONDITION: Condition of the paper itself is good with only a few soft roll creases across the top and small area of insect damage to extreme right top margin. However, entire surface shows abundant fly specking concentrated predominately to perimeter edges and top sheet of full date pad, which would be significantly enhanced through archival conservation. 1-27105 (3000-5000 )

1281. LASH'S GLASS SYRUP DISPENSER. Embossed green depression glass body atop a deco black amethyst glass base. SIZE: 12" tall x 6-1/2: diameter. 1282. DAGGETT'S ORANGEADE GLASS SYRUP DISPENSER. Textured glass bowl set atop a green reverse painted base. Retains original spigot and lid. SIZE: 14-1/2" tall. CONDITION: Some pitting to chrome plating on lid and loss of plating to the spigot, otherwise good condition. 1-26972 (300-400)

1284. WINE-DIP CERAMIC SYRUP DISPENSER. Stoneware cooler-shaped dispenser features front and back diamond-shaped Wine-Dip 5 cents logos. Dispenser bottom marked "Perfection Cooler Company, Michigan City, Ind." SIZE: 8" diameter x 10" tall. 1285. GREEN'S MUSCADINE PUNCH CERAMIC SYRUP DISPENSER. Ceramic barrel-shaped dispenser with gilt bands top and bottom, circa 1910. SIZE: 8-1/2" w x 12" t. CONDITION: General overall surface wear with loss of gilt to bands, and light scratching to lettering. Hairlines at base appear to have been made in the manufacturing process. 1-26971 (400-600)

1287. WATCHMAKER'S FIGURAL TRADE SIGN. Three-dimensional cast iron and tin trade sign for H. D. Ragan features clock face advertisements on both sides. Sign was originally designed to hang above the shopkeeper's storefront sidewalk. SIZE: 24" diameter x 34" tall. CONDITION: Both clock faces have been totally restored with some surface abrasions to both sides occurring after restoration. Cast iron pocket watch bezel retains original dark brown painted surface. 1-27134 (700-900)
1288. TANLAC TONIC CARDBOARD STORE DISPLAY. Folding 3-panel display for Tanlac "Nature's Medicine - The World's Greatest Tonic", circa 1930's. Panels feature vignettes of the far corners of the earth from which its ingredients are procured. A 1916 Department of Health publication states that the "tonic" properties were closer related to the 15.7% alcohol content of this cherry flavored wine, than due to any curative medicinal ingredients. SIZE: Image 51"w x 33"h. CONDITION: A few surface scuffs to the top center panel and some color shift toward green, otherwise surface litho very good. 1-27126 (500-700)

1289A. LEADED GLASS, ELECTRIFIED SIDEWALK DRUGSTORE SIGN. Two-sided sign which spells out the word "Drugs" on each side. The words "Carpenter Bros." and "Candy-Soda" are contemporary vinyl letters which have been added to the original stained glass. SIZE: 63" l x 28" t x 8" d. CONDITION: Sheet metal trim around stained glass has been painted red, otherwise sign appears original. A few cracked panels, otherwise good condition. 1-27057 (750-1,250)

1291. FIGURAL MORTAR & PESTLE APOTHECARY TRADE SIGN. Spectacular early illuminated trade sign features a gilt painted copper mortar and pestle encrusted with glass jewels. The mortar is set with blue, green and lavender jewels while the pestle is set with smaller blue, green red and opalescent colors. Probably manufactured by Travis, McLewee & Ferry Co., of New York, circa 1900, who credited themselves with creating the world's first illuminated trade signage. 1292. FANCY APOTHECARY CLUSTER SHOW GLOBES. Rare illuminated cluster globe apothecary symbol. Hanging from wall mounted filigreed brass bracket are five globes. The globes are filled with colored liquid; blue, red, yellow, and green. Brass collars to the globes are figural oak leaves. The show globe cluster was originally available in either an electric or a gas version. This example is electric. The unit was advertised in the 1899 Fuller & Fuller catalog, 1900 Lord Owens & Co. catalog, and the 1900 Peter Van Schaach catalog. SIZE: 18-1/2" high. The "Winchester Lures" clock has a windup mechanism, and the front has a kind of plastic or celluloid dial having an applied fish in the form of a walleye. It has a brass finial at the top making it look like a pocket watch. The Winchester Lewis letters consists of small plastic like letters that are affixed to the front. No key. SIZE: 13" diameter. 1346. VICTORY ORANGE PUNCH DISPENSER & DISPLAY. Extremely rare dispenser that also served as a combination drugstore illuminated display. The trophy-cup shaped decorated body is constructed from galvanized sheet metal with the handles, top and base fabricated from cast aluminum. The dispenser top is equipped with a lamp base for what was probably an illuminated globe or shade. The dispenser was designed as a figural ice cooler - a removable top panel allowed the soda jerk to fill the interior compartment with ice. SIZE: 32"w x 51"h. 1361F. LARGE 1920 WINCHESTER CALENDAR. This large lithographed framed calendar pictures a large duck hunting scene with father and son returning from the hunt. 1361G. ANTIQUE FULL SIZE ROLLER ORGAN. This 19th Century barrel organ has a nice incised carved wood case with a painted screen panel on top depicting sailing vessel and cottages. Cast metal handles mounted on either side. The crank on the left side, mechanism plays ten tunes and is complete with a play card. Popular tunes include one of the most famous W.W.I. tunes produced "Over There" by James M. Cohen. The mechanism is driven by a large spring and features a bell attachment. 1361H. PAIR OF LARGE CAST IRON FIGURAL LAMP FIXTURES. This is a wonderful pair of figural cast iron mounts which were probably used to either hold outdoor lighting fixtures or perhaps a large trade sign. The heads on these fixtures resemble a fierce wolf-like animal and suspended from the mouth of each is a substantial steel hook with a 1/2" open throat. SIZE: 5' h x 20" d.
