This important auction will feature two major lifelong collections of fresh-to-the-market merchandise as well as individual items from estates and collections from all over North America. Friday's session will feature the contents of the Collins Doll Museum of Great Falls, Montana. The museum, founded by Mrs. Geneva Collins, represents over half a century of collecting. What started as a hobby soon grew to such abundance, necessitating a second building being placed on her property to accommodate her collection. She started the museum to display her dolls for friends and family. Eventually, word spread, and her remote location museum became a worldwide attraction. At 97, Mrs. Collins has graciously entrusted the Julia firm to handle this outstanding collection. This collection consists of over 300 fine bisque dolls including Jumeau, Bru, K (Star) R, Kestner, Schoenhut, rare Kewpie googly eye doll, and many others. This fabulous collection also includes Steiff, character dolls, various early dolls, composition and other contemporary dolls, rare dollhouses, miniature stoves, rare salesman sample stove, much doll furniture and other accessories, etc. Friday's session will also include many fine bisque dolls from private collections incl. Thullier, Long Face Jumeau, Parians, Steiner, French Fashion, Simon & Halbig, etc. Saturday will feature the lifelong collection of the late John Lawson of Providence, RI. Mr. Lawson was an ingenious engineer with a fascination for all things mechanical. This is reflected in the breadth of his mammoth collection. His collection consists of over 70 rare U.S. patent models, a number of exceptional music boxes including a fabulous Regina Upright 21" Disc Interchangeable Music Box, as well as music boxes by George Baker, Bremond, and others. Mr. Lawson's collection is also highlighted by a vast array of tin litho windup toys with many in their original box, including Carette, Martin, Lehmann, Marx, etc., tin ocean liners by Marklin, Bing, and others, Black Toys, a large collection of Shuco, a grouping of Penny Toys, Disney, Popeye and other character toys, celluloid, Japanese toys, pressed steel and much more! Mr. Lawson's toy collection spanned from the 19th Century to the mid-20th Century. In addition to Mr. Lawson's collection, there will be a myriad of other items from private collections including a small but very select grouping of figural trade signs from one collection including optometrist, barbershop, cobbler, etc., automatons, a medley of Coke items, soda calendars, rare Buck Rogers toys from one private collection, Roy Rogers items, a grouping of choice music boxes including, among others, a rare Steck baby grand player piano, rare advertising signs, veterinary cabinets, figural advertising pieces, gas related items, roly poly tobacco tins, and much more! This will be a fast paced sale with a tremendous diversity of fresh to the market goods. Don't miss it!
