WHITNEY REED DOLL HOUSE. A charming small doll house with stone and brick façade. The front opens to reveal two rooms inside. Overall condition is very good. There is minor paper flaking throughout. House probably had glass windows on second floor, which are now lacking. SIZE: 7-1/2" x 6-1/2" x 11". 12-1/2" GERMAN BISQUE KESTNER 143 CHILD. Wonderful little character with brown sleep eyes, open mouth with two upper teeth, and fully jointed Kestner body. She has a brown mohair wig with coiled braids and is adorably dressed in antique oriental costume. CONDITION: She has beautiful bisque and original body finish. 11" GERMAN BISQUE BRUNO SCHMIDT 537 CHARACTER KNOWN AS "WENDY". A very rare petite version of this doll. She has her original blonde mohair wig. Appropriate antique, possible original clothes. Antique leather shoes marked with a "2". A beautiful pensive look is captured even in this small size. CONDITION: Overall excellent. One very light pepper on cheek. 10" ALL ORIGINAL JUMEAU DEP BEBE W/ TRUNK. Charming little German doll made for French market. Impressed "DEP" and rubber-stamped "Jumeau" on rear of head. On a fully jointed French style composition body, wearing antique lace dress, deep blue leather shoes and white fleece coat and hat. Doll has cork pate, original mohair wig and brown glass sleep eyes. Included with doll and trunk are some original/mother-made/& newer outfits. 16" GERMAN PAPIER-MÂCHÉ LADY W/ RARE HAIRDO. A fine example of a papier-mâché Milliner’s model. Doll has molded bun in back and braided tendrils. She has a fabulous silk seafoam green high-waisted dress with gathered sleeves. 10" FRENCH PAPIER-MÂCHÉ. A fine French painted eye papier-mâché with painted pate with human hair attached. The human hair wig has curls that go down in front of ears, exposing them and curl back up into a braid; wig slightly detached and original nail holes (to keep wig in place) are visible. She is on a pink kid body (faded) and is not wearing original clothing, but has original underwear. CONDITION: Overall very fine original untouched condition. 9" GERMAN PAPIER-MÂCHÉ MILLINER’S MODEL WITH WARDROBE. A fine example of a small milliner’s model with curls descending onto the back of her neck. Several garments are included along with a box of miniature books including "Bob the Cabin Boy". Doll originally belonged to "Miss Mary E. Hall". Doll and wardrobe come in an older box with children on label and blue ribbon from 1981 UFDC Exhibit. CONDITION: Overall condition is very good. 12" GERMAN BISQUE A.M. 1894 GIRL. Originally dressed in wonderful patriotic outfit representing "Miss Columbia". Retains original wig and shoes. She has open mouth and four teeth and is on a fully jointed composition body. CONDITION: Some discoloration to right side of forehead, light scuffing on the arms, some wear and touch up to knee joints. Fabric is weak on costume with overall soiling. 1-1049 CL 14 (200-300)

A wonderful, deeply molded character doll that is totally original with wonderful bisque and detailing. He has stationary blue eyes and human hair wig and goatee. Wearing antique white low-waisted gauze dress and matching hat. Has original cap to skin wig (lacking hair, but is now wearing sandy brown mohair wig). EXTREMELY RARE BLACK SMILING VAN ROZEN CHARACTER BOY. A truly unique an outstanding example of the Van Rozen character series. This young man is dressed as a Marquis and has marked French shoes (with bumblebee) and is wearing a white powder human hair wig and a three cornered hat. He is fully marked on rear of head "VAN ROZEN, FRANCE DEPOSE". Doll has extreme molding with open lips exposing his molded teeth in a smiling fashion. He has inset dark brown eyes that are highlighted with painted black eyelashes. 26" FRENCH BISQUE J.M. BEBE. A wonderful large size in this rare French bebe with golden brown eyes and soft pale bisque with lavender eyeshadowing. She is on a fully jointed French composition and wood body with straight wrists and is wearing a plaid silk lavender dress and antique children's shoes. This is a rare and extremely hard to find doll and would be the highlight of any collection. CONDITION: Small chip in neck socket. Light dusting to bisque. She is in her original chemise, leather shoes marked "PARIS" with running dog on bottom and on a proper style straight-wristed French composition body. She is wearing her original blonde mohair wig and a two-piece wine silk bebe dress with antique matching straw hat and antique brown leather shoes. 17" WOOD FRENCH COURT DOLL. A very rare doll of carved wood with a jointed body and molded and carved hair. This hermaphrodite (male/female sexed), is in all original untouched condition. He/she has a wooden torso with legs (painted socks & shoes) connected at the hip, a carved bust and sex organs and well-detailed hands connected at the elbow. Doll is wearing period print costume that is somewhat frail and a lace and satin bonnet attached by ribbon through its elaborate hairdo. CONDITION: Overall very good considering age of doll. Alligatoring/crazing to original paint finish on all wood painted surfaces. Truly a unique and very rare doll. 1-720 JL111 (2,000-2,500)

16" FRENCH COURT DOLL. A well-carved and costumed French court doll made of wood with inset glass pupil-less eyes. The intricate costume of silk and gold brocade has deteriorated with age but feel the doll is in all original untouched condition. Accompanying this doll is a first class ribbon, a note from the USDC judges and an original auction description tag. 1-737 JL115 (1,000-1,200)

OUTSTANDING 17" ENGLISH WOOD WILLIAM & MARY DOLL. Perhaps the finest and rarest doll in the Schmidt collection. This extremely rare doll was probably the highlight of Dr. & Mrs. Schmidt’s purchasing. It was bought at a London auction in which they competed with the London Museum. Dr. & Mrs. Schmidt were determined to buy the doll as was the London Museum. Obviously the Schmidt’s won out. This doll dates from the late 17th century and appears to be in all original, untouched condition! This doll has finely molded facial details including elaborately carved ears and painted eyes, mouth and cheeks. Fingers are well defined and carved (damage to three fingers on right hand). Wooden legs are covered in green silk and she has leather shoes made for her feet. Her chartreuse silk dress covers a multi-colored linen skirt with an aqua blue blouse, gauze apron and a bonnet to complete the ensemble. CONDITION: Original skull cap intact but majority of hair is missing. There are two cheek scuffs to doll’s left cheek. Considering the age of the doll, we still feel that her condition is outstanding. 1-814 JL112 (25,000-75,000)

19" QUEEN ANNE-TYPE WOODEN DOLL. A well-defined Queen Anne with brown pupil-less insect glass eyes, carved facial details, molded breastplate, wooden arms and jointed wooden legs. The undergarment is a cotton print that is covered by a quilted chartreuse leaded satin skirt which is in turn covered by an aqua leaded satin dress and topped with a gauze coverlet that is enhanced with embroidery. She has a brown human hair wig (replaced) and lace bonnet with fine silk pink and silver brocade ribbon. CONDITION: Under examination by magnifying glass and black light, there is indication of a small amount of touch-up to face. 1-718 JL116 (10,000-12,000)

The doll has a wooden torso with wooden lower legs jointed at the hip. The arms are cloth and probably were replaced some time ago. He is dressed in antique regional boys costume and has replaced blonde human hair wig. He is on a fully jointed K(star)R body. There is a cotton dress and hat also included in this lot. Bisque is even with rosy colored cheeks on a fully jointed wood body. She is wearing a French-style blue dress (some fading), antique leather boots and a sandy colored mohair wig with cork pate. 18" ENGLISH WAX LADY. This wax has a mohair wig, blue inset eyes with finely detailed eyebrows and painted upper and lower eyelashes. Her lower arms are wax as well as her lower legs. There is fine detailing to the fingers and toes. She is wearing antique, probably original clothing, which shows some stress to the fabric.
